BRIDGE INSPECTIONS
Bridge Routine Inspections and Load Rating Analysis
ROKAFORTE has extensive experience assessing actual conditions of highway bridges, identifying critical safety related deficiencies, submitting detailed reports and following up on critical findings.
Our previous experience includes bridges with single and multiple spans classified as RC box culverts, RC beam bridges, Steel beam bridges, Steel truss bridges, Pre-stressed bridges, and Post tensioned bridges. Our team coordinates the planning, mobilization and necessary equipment to carry out the inspections, considering in advance factors related to accessibility, safety and time of execution. Regarding the load analysis, ROKAFORTE LLC delivers reports with the bridge load rating results based on Inventory, Operating, and Legal loads. Also, we provide results for special Permit load conditions, when solicited. Our team has performed inspections and load rating analyses in bridges located in Missouri, Pennsylvania and Puerto Rico.

Secondary Structural System to Strengthen Existing Bridges
ROKAFORTE LLC provides services to temporarily or permanently stabilize bridges due to errors during construction. This case presents a six-span prestressed bridge from the Puerto Rico Highway Authority's bridge inventory under the Federal Highway Administration that suffered structural damage during a concrete slab repair in which part of the bridge's steel reinforcement broke during a partial demolition. A secondary structural system was designed to ensure compliance with the following conditions: 1) Stabilize the bridge from the superstructure without the need for cranes, 2) keep intact the integrity of the bridge at the points of support of the secondary structural system; 3) sustain temporary construction loads on the cantilever slabs of the bridge; 4) control the displacements at the cantilever slabs of the bridge and 5) that it be detachable once the concrete was poured so as not to affect the functionality of the superstructure.
